About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Electron Microscopy section in the Cellular Pathology Department at Charing Cross Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in a range of medical laboratory techniques, particularly in histopathology and electron microscopy, to support the provision of an efficient service.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to undertake the technical processing and preparation of tissue biopsies ready for ultrastructural examination. They will also be responsible for assisting in the provision of a safe and high-quality service, working closely with scientists, medical staff, and management teams.
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in Maths and English Language, or Science and Humanities as alternative.
- NVQ level 3 or proven and relevant laboratory experience.
- Precise and accurate work, good attention to detail, numerate and literate, able to read and follow written methodologies or protocols.
- Knowledge across a range of laboratory procedures, previous 6 months laboratory workplace experience, and working knowledge of pathology labs.
