We are seeking a skilled Process Optimization Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil. This is a full-time, permanent position working 4 on/4 off days and nights - 7am/7pm to 7pm/7am, with a competitive salary of £50,000 per annum.

Job Requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements.
  • Develop and maintain effective preventative maintenance schedules.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in process optimization and a proven track record of delivering results-driven projects. Their ability to analyze complex systems and develop targeted solutions will be crucial to our success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure safe working practices for visiting contractors.
  2. Adhere to strict Health & Safety protocols.
  3. Report any potential hazards or risks to the Health & Safety Manager or responsible person promptly.
  4. Implement and maintain PPM schedules using predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques.
  5. Develop and implement proactive improvement plans.
  6. Manage engineering training budgets and oversee CPM training programs.
  7. Drive and lead CI projects with a proactive approach.
  8. Compile regular reports on project progress and provide feedback to the CPM / Engineering management team.
  9. Collaborate closely with Operations and the CPM Shift Engineering team to enhance asset performance and streamline process flow in the retail packing hall.
  10. Support the Engineering department in achieving budget targets through efficient material usage and replacement part procurement.
  11. Lead the engineering and operational engagement in root cause analysis with documented evidence and long-term solutions.
  12. Follow established accounting and authorization procedures when ordering replacement parts.
  13. Enhance and maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards in all areas of the CPM production and Engineering workshop.
  14. Assist in emergency breakdown repairs and support site engineering issues.
  15. Assist in the installation of new equipment on-site.
  16. Provide technical guidance and behavioral coaching to peers, apprentices, and production colleagues.
  17. Stay informed of and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
