We are currently recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our busy manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil. This is a full-time, permanent position working 4 on/4 off days and nights - 7am/7pm to 7pm/7am, with an attractive salary of £50,000 per annum.

Job Description
  • Actively identify continuous improvement (CI) projects and drive them through to their final stages.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance schedules and provide comprehensive training for CPM shift engineers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing CI methodologies to enhance our operations. Their dedication to driving continuous improvement projects and applying CI principles will be unwavering.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain safe operating procedures for visiting contractors.
  2. Adhere to Health & Safety rules and regulations diligently.
  3. Report any potential hazards or risks to the Health & Safety Manager or responsible person immediately upon discovery.
  4. Develop and fulfill PPM schedules using predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques.
  5. Initiate proactive improvement plans.
  6. Manage engineering training budgets and oversee CPM training.
  7. Drive and implement CI projects with a self-motivated approach.
  8. Compile weekly reports on project progress and provide feedback to the CPM / Engineering management team.
  9. Collaborate closely with Operations and the CPM Shift Engineering team to optimize asset performance and streamline process flow in the retail packing hall.
  10. Support the Engineering department in achieving budget targets through efficient use of materials and replacement parts.
  11. Lead the engineering and operational engagement in root cause analyses with documented evidence and long-term solutions.
  12. Follow accounting and authorization procedures when ordering replacement parts.
  13. Uphold and enhance hygiene and housekeeping standards in all areas of the CPM production and Engineering workshop.
  14. Assist in emergency breakdown repairs across all CPM production equipment and support site engineering issues.
  15. Assist in installing new equipment on-site.
  16. Provide technical guidance and behavioral coaching to peers, apprentices, and production colleagues.
  17. Stay informed of and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
