Job Overview

TRT World is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior News Anchor to join our team in Istanbul, Turkey. As a key member of our news department, you will be responsible for presenting a wide range of news and current affairs programs to a global audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present news and current affairs programs to a live or pre-recorded audience, either individually or as part of a team.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to produce high-quality news content, exercising editorial judgment and maintaining professional journalistic standards.
  • Write and edit program scripts, bulletins, and links, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and engaging storytelling.
  • Undertake interviewing and reporting duties, both on location and in the studio, to gather news and feature content.
  • Prepare and present news bulletins, assessing incoming copy, sub-editing news content, and deploying resources as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with producers, editors, and other team members to deliver high-quality news programs.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of global news events, trends, and issues, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

Requirements

  • University degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the television sector, with a proven track record in journalism and extensive knowledge of news and current affairs.
  • Demonstrate exceptional news judgment, with a clear and concise writing style.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with a strong on-camera presence and ability to think on their feet.
  • High level of proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Willingness to relocate to Istanbul, Turkey, and adapt to the demands of a 24-hour news organization.
