Our client is seeking an experienced Regulatory and Compliance Manager to ensure the business adheres to relevant laws and regulations. As the Regulatory and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and running the business's operational compliance and implementing new plans and strategies for future compliance. The ideal candidate will be diligent and possess strong communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Setting the plans and objectives for the compliance function.
  2. Playing an active role in the strategy for the compliance function.
  3. Evaluating risk levels, significance, and scope within the business's compliance procedures, communicating findings to the Board.
  4. Overseeing and managing the policies, systems, and controls related to compliance.
  5. Ensuring any breaches have been reported to the necessary regulatory bodies.
  6. Ensuring best in class compliance function.
  7. Reducing or alleviating the compliance issues across the business.
  8. Advise the Compliance Board on implementing compliance measures.
  9. Serve as the primary contact for data protection inquiries and Subject Access Requests.
  10. Investigate and recommend actions in response to complaints.
  11. Provide guidance on corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies for policy, system, and personnel issues.
  12. Working alongside the heads of department to identify and reduce risk factors.
  13. Deliver effective risk and compliance training as needed.
  14. Stay updated on relevant regulations and internal policies.
  15. Conduct audits to ensure the business remains compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  16. Collaborate with the Compliance Board and insurers to address claims against the business.
  17. Manage and develop the compliance team.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 5 years previous compliance experience within a professional services environment.
  2. Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing and building relationships across all levels.
  3. Commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards to minimize risk.
  4. Skill in balancing commercial interests with compliance requirements.
