Job Summary:
Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Support Worker to join our team in a therapeutic residential service in Rudford, Gloucestershire. As a Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young adults with emotional, behavioural, social, and mental health challenges in a safe and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
- Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes.
- Deal with challenging behaviours when necessary.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
- Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
- Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is required, as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
- You must be over the age of 21.
- You must be able to commute to Rudford, Gloucestershire.
