Reliable Maintenance Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Control Engineer to join our client, a global manufacturer based in Widnes, Cheshire. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and delivering maintenance.
The successful candidate must be a time served maintenance technician with previous, related industrial maintenance experience. Hold a HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. You should have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring rapid response resulting in plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised.
- Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently either alone and/or as part of a team.
- Identify incorrect equipment operation and locate sources of error. Observe equipment in operation and use appropriate test and measurement instruments.
- Making running adjustments to parts of devices and control instruments to ensure correct function
- Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI's through planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Liaise effectively with external contractors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanical installation and fitting - machines fixing in location, levelling and alignment, machine sub-assembly and mechanical modification.
- Electrical installations and wiring - practical familiarity with European and international standards and installation practice.
- Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical/electronic motion control systems.
- Specific experience with troubleshooting and repairing motors and drives is essential. Specific experience with Allen Bradley motor drives is desirable.
- Practical experience with industrial robotics - Specific expertise with FANUC SCARA robots and multi-axis palletizing robots is desirable.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- An excellent benefits package, including a shift allowance and bonus scheme.
- A 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with two 12-hour days and two 12-hour nights.
