About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People Business Partner to join our team at Wagamama. As a key member of our HR function, you will play a critical role in driving the people strategy for the South Region, working closely with the Regional Director and Area Managers to deliver successful operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Foster Strong Relationships: Build and maintain effective relationships with the Regional Director, Area Managers, and Management Teams to drive successful operational performance.
  • Talent Management: Ensure medium- and long-term talent pipelines are in place to achieve the right balance of internal to external hires, working with the Regional Talent Partner to attract and retain talent.
  • Succession Planning: Identify and develop successors to fill key roles, ensuring a healthy pipeline of talent.
  • Underperformance Identification and Support: Identify underperformance quickly and support the Regional Director and Area Managers to resolve issues, ensuring people are in the right position.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Nurture a diverse and inclusive approach to talent, ensuring a clear understanding of internal pipeline requirements.
  • Labour Turnover Reduction: Own and work with the Regional Director and Area Managers to identify the root cause of high labour turnover, providing advice and guidance to reduce attrition.
  • Line Management and Development: Line manage and develop the Regional Talent Partner for the region.
  • Analytics and People Information: Use analytics and people information to prioritize areas of focus and identify trends.
  • Escalated ER Cases: Work closely with Operations and the People Services Team to resolve escalated ER cases quickly and fairly.
  • Change Embedment: Work with the Regional Team to support and embed changes into restaurants, ensuring change is understood and embraced by the end user.
  • Regional Resourcing Strategy: Create the regional resourcing strategy in conjunction with Operations and the Talent Acquisition Partner to identify where external resource is required.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience partnering for a multisite restaurant, retail, or similar type business.
  • Generalist HR Knowledge: Good understanding of the principles and practices of generalist HR, talent management, ER, and change management.
  • People Information Interpretation: Able to interpret and understand people information, including P&Ls, dashboards, and company scorecards.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, able to inspire, grow, and develop direct reports and peers.
  • Partnership Working: Ability to work in true partnership, providing support, guidance, challenge, collaboration, and co-creation.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems, analyze issues, and interpret data.
  • Facilitation Skills: Strong facilitation skills, guiding others to achieve goals and fostering a culture of collaboration.
  • Change Agent: Ability to promote and support new ways of working, winning the hearts and minds of key stakeholders.
