Job Description
The role of a diabetes dietitian involves providing comprehensive clinical support and dietetic advice to patients with diabetes, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-standard care. This includes formulating individualized diabetes dietetic and education treatment plans, acting as an expert resource, and providing high-quality specialist clinical advice and educational support.
Requirements
- BSc or postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Previous dietetic experience within diabetes services, including management of enteral feeds.
- Knowledge of dietetics within the NHS.
- Advanced specialist knowledge demonstrated by evidence of post-registration courses and experiential learning, such as a diabetes module.
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
- Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating (DAFNE) trained.
- Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion (CSII) experience and/or training.
- Good oral and written communication skills with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Presentation skills and ability to work autonomously with individuals and groups.
- Clinically competent to give specialist advice, treatment, and dietary counseling to support behavior changes in adults and their carers with diverse healthcare needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team, identifying and leading on service change.
- Motivational interviewing and counseling skills.
- Evidence of development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
Salary and Benefits
£51,883 - £58,544 per annum inclusive of HCAS, with opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive environment.
