Rapid Assessment and Resettlement

We are seeking a skilled Homelessness/Housing professional to join our team at Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub within the Street Homeless Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for administering our prevention and relief duties, carrying out housing options interviews, and determining homeless applications.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Develop in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and case law to ensure accurate application of statutory duties.
  2. Conduct thorough housing options interviews with applicants, verifying documents and visiting as necessary to maximise prevention opportunities.
  3. Determine homeless applications by conducting detailed enquiries and assessing against relevant legislation.
  4. Undertake front-line duties with respect to placements, transfers, and management of temporary accommodation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a housing officer in a previous council or housing association.
  • Demonstrable experience working in Homelessness, Tenancies, Temporary Accommodation, or Resettlement divisions.
  • Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable clients in a housing/homeless environment.
  • A valid DBS and immediate availability for start.

Contract Details

  • 3-month initial contract with potential extensions.
  • PAYE via Umbrella.
  • Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 09:30-17:45.

The estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive package and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
