Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks a skilled Palliative Medicine Specialist to join their team. As a Consultant in Palliative Medicine, you will work closely with the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team (HSPCT) and the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team (CSPCT).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing and facilitating the care of terminally ill patients across the locality, acting as a focus for advice and generalist contact in community and hospital settings.

To be eligible for this role, applicants must be on or eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine within six months of interview date. Key requirements include an appropriate higher degree (MD, PhD), a higher medical qualification (MRCP, FRCP, MRCGP, FRCA), and management training in an NHS environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work across community and hospital settings to enhance and facilitate palliative care for terminally ill patients
  • Act as a focus for advice and generalist contact in community and hospital settings
  • Collaborate with the HSPCT and CSPCT teams to provide comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Be on or eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine within six months of interview date
  • Hold an appropriate higher degree (MD, PhD)
  • Possess a higher medical qualification (MRCP, FRCP, MRCGP, FRCA)
  • Have undertaken management training in an NHS environment, including conflict management skills
