Job Overview

The successful candidate will be a permanent full-time appointment in Gastroenterology, working at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The main requirement of this post is to support the Gastroenterology & Hepatology service, particularly sustainability for out-of-hours working (currently 1:8), with plans for a 1:10 ratio.

We offer a competitive salary of £85,000 to £115,000 per annum, depending on experience. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop a 7-day in-patient service and facilitate the 18-week referral to treatment target for outpatients.

About Our Team

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership.

  • We have three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.
  • We employ over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, providing acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.
Requirements
  • MB ChB or equivalent qualification
  • MRCP or UK equivalent
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
  • Wide clinical experience in General (Internal) medicine
  • Able to demonstrate the use of clinical audits within the service
