Job Summary:

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Child Care Officer to join our team. As a key member of our residential care team, you will provide support and care to children and young people with learning disabilities, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable, and reliable, with a minimum of two years' experience working with this client group. You will work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties, and be able to use physical intervention techniques in your day-to-day work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with children and young people, their families, and other professionals
- Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure the delivery of excellent care and support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports

Requirements:

- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to use physical intervention techniques in your day-to-day work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
