About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Worker to join our team at Hestia. As a key member of our Mental Health & Complex Needs Service, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans to promote service users' recovery and wellbeing.
  • Provide guidance and support to service users in navigating statutory services, including community mental health teams and social work teams.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless service coverage and meet contractual obligations.
  • Design and deliver co-produced group activities, peer support networks, and community-based approaches to empower service users.
  • Monitor and address health, wellbeing, safety, and security concerns, ensuring prompt follow-up and adherence to procedures.
  • Contribute to the core work of the service, providing support to colleagues, completing allocated tasks, and identifying additional tasks as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to administrative procedures.
  • Assist in managing health and safety, repairs, and maintenance of the premises.
  • Collect rents and service charges, and manage arrears proactively, following policy, protocol, and procedure.
  • Support the Team Manager and Senior Recovery Worker in managing voids across the service.
  • Ensure effective and timely referrals, assessments, and service reviews.
  • Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move-on process.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience working with individuals who have experienced mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, including Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.
  • Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative, and oversee induction of new peer staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to work with statutory services, including the NHS at the front line.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Ability to work Monday to Sunday, 9.00am - 5.00pm, including bank holidays.
  • Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and the internet.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, able to produce clear written correspondence.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
