Landscape Officer

Maidstone Borough Council is seeking an experienced Arboriculturist to join our Heritage, Landscape and Trees team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on arboricultural matters related to new development proposals and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities- Deal with tree and hedge applications, protecting trees, and advising on arboricultural matters
- Provide guidance on impacts and effects of new development on the environment
- Take enforcement action where necessary
- Collaborate with partners and customers to achieve environmental protection and new development proposals
- Professional qualification in Arboriculture (min NQF level 3), RFS Diploma (NQF level 6) or equivalent
- Membership of a professional body such as the Arboricultural Association or similar
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prepare and present expert evidence
- Experience of providing specialist advice within a local authority and planning context
