Job Title: Accounts and Operations Executive

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts and Operations Executive to join our team at Norrie Johnston Recruitment - Global Executive Search & Interim Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business, including financial management, customer service, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting.
  • Oversee the customer service function, ensuring timely and effective resolution of customer queries and issues.
  • Provide administrative support to the management team, including preparing reports, presentations, and other materials.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage the company's stock, purchasing, and supply chain operations.
  • Meet annual GP budget and seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify trends and anticipate challenges ahead, staying up to date with competitor movements and industry standards.
  • Oversee quality sign-off and returns process, reporting, and H&S standards and regulation requirements.
  • Monitor and develop the performance of the Operations team through goal setting, training, culture, PDRs, and accountability.
  • Recruit, induct, and onboard new starters.
  • Manage the ERP system and improvement opportunities.
  • Achieve a culture-first approach and be a brand ambassador.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in the application of Lean principles.
  • Challenger mindset to continually improve procedures.
  • Experienced in web, CRM, and ERP integrations.
  • Experience in implementing and managing 3PL locations.
  • Experience in setting up easy-to-use online payment platforms.
  • Familiar with running multi-channel logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of product compliance within the UK and EU market, particularly with construction materials.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commercial skills, data analysis, and time-motion studies.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Personable, presentable, and articulate.
  • Positive, proactive, and punctual.
  • Adept with technical detail and strong in accuracy.
  • Exceptional leadership and team skills.
  • Willing to travel abroad and work beyond hours when necessary.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the construction industry or knowledge of plumbing, heating, and electrics.
  • Understanding of cultures in foreign countries.
  • Competent with ERP systems.
  • A qualification in Operations Management, Efficiency/Lean, or People Management.
