Personal Development Specialist

MidKent College is a leading further education college, offering a wide range of courses and qualifications to students across Kent. We are now seeking a Personal Development Specialist to join our team, working closely with students to support their personal and academic growth.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to work with students in a supportive and inclusive environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning and tutorials, as well as providing guidance and support to help students develop the skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carer's. You will also have a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports as required.
Main Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality learning and tutorials to small groups of up to 30 students, covering a range of subjects including PSHE & RSE, employability, and sustainability.
• Provide one-to-one sessions with students to review their progress, provide general catch-ups, and address any welfare concerns.
• Work collaboratively with the safeguarding team to ensure that all practices align with compliance requirements, providing a safe and supportive environment for students.
• Monitor student progress, supporting their academic performance, soft skills development, and UCAS applications as needed.
Requirements:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced professional who has a passion for teaching and supporting students. You will have a degree in a relevant subject area and/or equivalent experience in a related field. You must also have a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports as required.
A salary of £26,000 - £28,000 per annum is available for this position, depending on experience.
