Adolescent Guidance Coordinator

Join us at Social Personnel in a challenging and rewarding role as an Adolescent Guidance Coordinator. You will be working with care leavers who face complex challenges, providing guidance and support to help them navigate their transition to adulthood.

About the Role:

Your primary objective will be to empower young people to make informed decisions about their education and career paths, leveraging your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To facilitate and chair Personal Educational Plans for statutory school-age young people, helping them to set and achieve their goals.
  • To motivate and engage young people in developing and implementing pathway plans, connecting them with available services and opportunities.
  • To collaborate with statutory and voluntary sector agencies and professionals to ensure effective coordination and provision of services to young people, advocating on their behalf.
  • To identify and mitigate potential risks to young people's safety and well-being, communicating with social workers and managers as necessary.
  • To conduct assessments of independent living skills and provide support to help young people develop essential practical and emotional skills for independent living.
Requirements:
  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to work effectively with vulnerable individuals and build trusting relationships.
  3. Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  4. Experience working with care leavers or similar populations.
  5. Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures governing child protection and safeguarding.
What We Offer:

A competitive salary of £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
