Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Weston-Super-Mare

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

Job Summary

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Highway Cyclical and Reactive Maintenance services operated on behalf of the client. This role will involve managing supervisory staff and ensuring the operational service delivery meets all specified requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supervisory staff to ensure delivery of services meets all specified requirements
  • Investigate incidents in a timely manner and oversee insurance and reporting requirements
  • Improve efficiency levels and bring value-added financial performance to the Company
  • Develop and implement innovative commercial opportunities to improve financial performance
  • Induct, train, and appraise line reports and their teams
  • Ensure all Company policies and procedures are understood and adhered to by staff
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Client and internal/external customers
  • Attend Client/customer meetings and ensure all reports are delivered in time
  • Maintain records and systems for effective and compliant operation of the Company
  • Ensure all financial/budgeted targets are achieved for the Contract
  • Undertake Transport Manager duties for the service
Requirements
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Proven professional and/or industry experience
  • Experience managing sub contractors and supply chain
  • People management experience, including HR processes
  • Proven track record of working to specified service KPI targets
  • Proven operational management or supervisory experience in Highways discipline
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge and application of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Good geographical awareness of industry supply chain in Southwest
  • Excellent understanding of English local authorities statutory Highways duties
Skills
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office suite and business systems
  • Excellent organisational, time management and planning skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade
  • Ability to deal with conflict and manage appropriate outcomes
  • Able to communicate at all levels verbally and in written form
