Quinn Recruitment is seeking a Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the management of our vehicle fleet and associated operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the collection of recyclable materials and waste from a diverse range of residential and commercial clients.
- Supervising the operations of multiple Waste Management Facilities and Transfer Stations.
- Ensuring the maintenance and safety of extensive highway networks, including repairs, winter services, and emergency response.
The role involves leading a team dedicated to the strategic management of our Fleet Department, focusing on compliance, workshop operations, and procurement of vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Managing the fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and maintenance schedules.
- Overseeing the commercial vehicle maintenance workshop, ensuring high standards for both internal and external vehicles.
- Acting as the primary Transport Manager/CPC holder, maintaining the integrity of the company's Operator's licence.
Additionally, the Fleet Operations Manager will provide technical guidance on vehicle specifications, manage the fleet profile, and explore alternative vehicle options to enhance asset efficiency.
Responsibilities also include:
- Specifying and procuring new or replacement fleet vehicles, including managing asset disposals.
- Reviewing supply chain processes to ensure effective contractor and supplier management, enhancing financial performance through negotiated agreements.
- Taking charge of budgetary and KPI responsibilities for the Fleet Department, providing regular updates to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Transport Manager CPC qualification and a reputable Operator Licence.
- Proven experience in fleet management within environmental services or logistics sectors.
- Strong background in HGV vehicle engineering, with professional body membership preferred.
- Experience in fleet procurement and advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated strategic and commercial acumen.
