As Plantforce continues to expand its fleet, we are seeking a highly skilled Service & Repair Manager to oversee the timely and efficient maintenance of our heavy plant equipment.
This role is based at our Weston office and reports directly to the National Workshops Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of mobile fitters and support staff to ensure that our plant is serviced to the highest standards, with a focus on prompt and effective resolution of breakdowns.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Service & Repair mobile fitters and support team to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks.
- Prioritize, schedule, and assign jobs to optimize resource allocation and meet deadlines.
- Ensure routine services are performed in accordance with manufacturer schedules.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, implementing effective solutions.
- Manage repair requests to ensure effective resolution and minimize downtime.
- Monitor parts and stock control to ensure availability and manage stock costs.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Build relationships with key suppliers and negotiate competitive rates.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Personal Requirements:
- Previous team leader or manager experience in a similar role.
- Extensive technical knowledge of heavy plant machinery, including operation and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using various software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
