We are seeking an experienced Band 7 CBT Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Wandsworth Early Intervention for psychosis team, providing a comprehensive package of care for people experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

About the Role

As a Band 7 CBT Therapist, you will provide cognitive behavioural therapy to patients referred to the Wandsworth Early Intervention Team. This will include specialist CBT assessments and therapies for individuals experiencing first-episode psychosis, as well as other difficulties such as anxiety and depression.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To provide specialist CBT assessments of clients referred to the early intervention service, utilizing appropriate data from various sources including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and semi-structured interviews.
  2. To evaluate and make decisions about CBT treatment options, considering theoretical and therapeutic models, as well as complex factors influencing individual, family, or group development.
  3. To contribute to a CBT-based framework of understanding and care, benefiting all clients of the service across settings and agencies serving the client group.
  4. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients, providing advice on CBT approaches to aspects of risk assessment and management.
Requirements
  • BABCP Accreditation as CBT practitioner (or eligible and seeking accreditation)
  • Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in CBT
  • Recorded/registered qualification in one of the following: nursing, social work, occupational therapy, clinical/counselling psychology

The successful candidate will have experience using evidence-based psychological interventions for treating psychosis, assessing and treating mental health problems, and providing individual CBT treatments and facilitating therapeutic groups.
