Job Title: Welfare Rights Adviser/Trainee

Citizens Advice Leeds is a local charity helping over 30,000 people a year to resolve financial, housing, employment, and other legal issues. We are seeking a Welfare Rights Adviser/Trainee to join our established Help to Claim team, helping people to make claims for Universal Credit through to their first payment.

The Role:

As a Welfare Rights Adviser, you will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive good quality advice via telephone and digital channels, including carrying out benefits checks, assisting with applications, and contributing to team rotas and targets. Good attention to detail, strong IT skills, and a focus on good customer service are essential for this role. Some knowledge of welfare rights is essential, though training will be given.

Trainee Opportunities:

Applications are invited from motivated candidates looking for a career development opportunity in the advice sector. As a trainee, you will develop the skills to deliver advice over the phone and online, covering a range of subjects including energy, welfare rights. If you can offer enthusiasm and a desire to learn, strong IT and communication skills, we're offering training and support to enable you to achieve full competence in 6-8 months.
