About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled M&E Cost Manager to work with our clients on a variety of projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost planning, cost-in-use studies, and procurement strategies. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cost planning strategies for projects
  • Conduct cost-in-use studies to identify areas for cost reduction
  • Advise clients on procurement strategies and tender documentation
  • Manage the tender process and design tender marking schemes
  • Deliver high-quality cost management services and ensure deliverables meet client requirements
  • Manage projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures
  • Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies
  • Evaluate and report on tenders
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments
  • Settle final accounts
  • Provide technical advice on legal and contractual issues relating to construction projects
  • Produce and present reports to clients
  • Mentor and coach employees to their full potential

Requirements

  • Quantity Surveying Degree or similar
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cost management
  • Cost management experience working towards chartership
  • Knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning
  • Cohesive knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
  • Knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks
