About the Role

Your new company is a leading multidisciplinary consultancy seeking an experienced M&E Cost Manager to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will work with both public and private sector clients on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, and civil services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cost planning strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct cost-in-use studies to identify areas for cost reduction and improvement.
  • Advise on and implement procurement strategies to optimize project outcomes.
  • Prepare and manage tender documentation, including designing tender marking schemes.
  • Deliver high-quality services and ensure cost management deliverables meet customer requirements.
  • Manage projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures.
  • Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies.
  • Evaluate and report on tenders.
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments.
  • Settle final accounts.
  • Provide technical advice on legal and contractual issues relating to construction projects.
  • Produce and present reports to customers.
  • Mentor and coach employees to their full potential.
Requirements
  • Quantity Surveying degree or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cost management.
  • Cost management experience working towards chartership.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
  • Cohesive knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
