About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding role requires an experienced nursing leader who can provide strategic direction and leadership to clinical teams within the directorate of Gynaecology. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in leading and managing nursing teams, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a proven track record of quality improvement, and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care. They will also be able to demonstrate effective leadership, set professional standards, and promote best practice within their clinical area.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to the clinical teams within the directorate of Gynaecology
  • Demonstrate effective leadership, setting and monitoring professional standards, working collaboratively, managing complaints, and leading the nursing contribution for clinical governance at a specialty/department level
  • Be an integral member of the directorate management team, providing nursing advice, managing specialty nursing teams, and contributing to innovative solutions to workforce & capacity management
  • Take responsibility for human and financial resources, contributing to key performance outcomes within the directorate
  • Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Ensure all information processed for patients and staff is kept confidential, accurate, and in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and Caldecott Policy
