Agile Business Consultant

The Agile Business Adviser will be responsible for delivering project-based work with a client organisation. Depending on the project, the individual may be dedicated to supporting a single larger/complex project or delivering a number of smaller projects with multiple clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of the project(s) safely, to time, cost, and in an environmentally responsible manner while satisfying the quality requirements of the client and end user.
- Working within multi-disciplinary teams (both internal and external contractors) typically as part of a matrix organisation to achieve shared project goals.
- Management of project forecast and spend within agreed budgets, providing periodic updates via the management review process.
- Reporting of project updates (progress, schedule, and commercial information), data analysis, and production of reports and visuals to communicate such with project/programme managers and stakeholders as appropriate.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key project stakeholders, producing a robust stakeholder and customer relationship plan, and implementing accordingly.
- Production, maintenance, and implementation of the Project Management Plan.
- Active management of project risks, issues, change, and contingency throughout the project lifecycle, implementing meaningful mitigation measures and following escalation processes where appropriate.
- Support the project sponsor/client in preparing key business case documentation, securing investment, and senior stakeholder management.
The Agile Business Adviser will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of the company's business development strategy, including bidding, marketing, account management, and networking.
Additionally, the company supports its consultants in retaining a strong focus on continuous professional development.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- Successful project and contract management experience, delivering value-for-money solutions, demonstrable through all stages of the project lifecycle. Experience in rail or highways industries is desirable but not essential.
- Experience managing projects within recognised methodologies such as APM, MSP, AGILE, or PRINCE.
- Commercial awareness and financial skills to provide accurate forecasts and administer contracts.
- A keen interest in helping develop the business, identifying business opportunities, and promoting company initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Open to travel as the project requires.

Starting salary £35k
