Job Overview

Main Duties of the Job

As a highly specialist psychologist/psychotherapist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist psychological therapies to individuals, families, and groups affected by trauma
  • Developing and delivering training packages on trauma-responsive care to multi-agency professionals
  • Collaborating with colleagues to design and implement trauma-responsive approaches across Greater Manchester
  • Providing clinical supervision and consultation to professionals working with individuals and families affected by trauma

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A doctorate in clinical/counselling psychology and registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Experience of working as a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist or highly specialist psychotherapist in the NHS
  • Knowledge of trauma-responsive approaches and experience of working with individuals and families affected by trauma
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders
Desirable Criteria

While not essential, the following qualifications and experiences would be highly desirable:

  • Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Experience of working with complex safeguarding issues and developing trauma-responsive approaches
  • Knowledge of Governmental and Strategic policies and national clinical guidance in relation to children and young people, mental health, and CAMHS
