Job Purpose

To identify, recognize, support, and improve the lives of unpaid carers living in East Lancashire. Implementing clear, dynamic, innovative, and effective communications and fundraising strategies and practices. Producing high-quality and professional communications alongside effective fundraising practices that help achieve business objectives and goals.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the charity in raising awareness of all unpaid carers, including identification, needs, issues, and barriers, and support available to them.
  2. Raise awareness of the charity's services and support by designing innovative and engaging marketing campaigns and undertaking various fundraising practices.
  3. Develop, implement, and manage all digital and social media platforms across the charity, including promoting and raising awareness of all aspects of our services and support, trading, and fundraising.
  4. Write, edit, coordinate, share, and publish content across various channels, including our website, social media, digital, print, and through integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns across the whole organization.
  5. Proactively plan, organize, and implement key national communication and fundraising campaigns throughout the year, such as Carers Week, Carers Rights Day, Young Carers Awareness Day, and other specific campaigns.
  6. Lead on fundraising initiatives, including fundraising events, corporate sponsors, major donors, legacies, and regular charitable giving.
  7. Increase fundraising income and meet annual targets around generating fundraising income.
  8. Develop positive working relationships and collaborations with the voluntary, statutory, and private sector organizations.
  9. Develop high-quality and professional publicity and marketing materials for the charity.
  10. Design and publish the charity's 6-monthly magazine, bi-weekly e-bulletins, and other key organizational documentation, such as the annual report.
  11. Support the charity with gift aid and other platforms for charitable giving.
  12. Research and keep up-to-date on local policies, research, and papers affecting carers.
  13. Monitor and report on campaign activity across all digital channels.
  14. Use in-house Adobe InDesign software to produce various digital and printed fundraising and marketing materials.
  15. Work with local media leads, including radio, newspapers, and publications.
  16. Produce and distribute short films to raise awareness of the service during key events.
  17. Manage a fundraising budget.
  18. Organize and attend outreach activities across the communities of East Lancashire to support enhancing the overall communications.
  19. Develop collaborative and joint communication campaigns across health and social care and education that meet identified needs of all parties.
  20. Raise awareness of the volunteering opportunities and successes across the charity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Overall responsibility for successfully developing and maintaining all communications associated with the charity.
  2. Fully participate in staff meetings, any sub-groups, and mandatory training as and when required.
