Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team in various locations around the world.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the overall mental health program and local team to provide mental health care in health facilities and communities.
- Conduct community mental health assessments and develop strategies for mental health care.
- Train and supervise mental health teams, including psychologists, outreach workers, and counselors.
- Develop and implement culturally appropriate psycho-social interventions.
- Organize group therapeutic and psycho-educational activities.
- Ensure the implementation of MSF standard mental health protocols and procedures.
- Develop or improve work tools and attend stakeholder meetings.
- Organize patient referrals to local structures.
- Formal education and Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or clinical social work.
- Currently licensed to practice with independent clinical practice experience.
- Significant post-qualification experience in diversified professional clinical work, including direct face-to-face patient treatment.
- Experience working in low-resource contexts with marginalized/displaced populations.
- Fluency in English and ideally a second language (including French, Arabic, Spanish, or Russian).
- IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to cope in a difficult environment as the sole mental health specialist.
MSF accepts applications from qualified and registered counselors and psychotherapists with a clinical psychology Master's degree and professional accreditations.
Information for Psychiatrists:Medical degree with psychiatry degree, registered or resident in psychiatry with six semesters (three years) validated in psychiatry.
