Sysco International, a leading food distribution company, is seeking a highly experienced Director of Communications - Europe to lead the development and execution of communications strategies for the company's European operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute communications strategies that enhance and protect Sysco's reputation, generate engagement, and increase advocacy.
- Lead the development and execution of Sysco Europe's communications strategy, providing senior communications counsel and support to the Leadership Team.
- Partner with the Sysco Europe Leadership Team to build trust and provide guidance on effective communication and storytelling.
- Draft strategies, action plans, tactics, and messages for specific cross-Europe programs, oversee resources, and manage implementation.
- Oversee the social media strategy and execution, ensuring an appropriate content mix targeting customers, colleagues, talent, and other influencers.
- Create opportunities to tell a fully rounded Sysco story, focusing on food, customer-centricity, sustainability, and employer-brand stories.
- Evolve leadership communications channels to simplify the cascade mechanism, driving regular cadence of communications around key 'moments'.
- Play a key role in developing and executing communications that align with broader Change Management plans, informing, educating, involving, and exciting colleagues around key business and cultural transformation initiatives.
- Ensure consistency of information used across all internal and external channels, driving rigorous QA of data points used through the website, intranet, internal communications channels, via customer presentations, and in any materials used externally.
**Requirements**
- Experienced Director/Head of Communications with a proven track record of developing and executing communications strategies, PR strategies, communications, and PR plans for large organizations.
- Managing and delivering sensitive, crisis, and executive communications requests in a large-scale corporate environment is essential.
- Previous experience managing complex communications through significant transformation and change, with creativity and flexibility.
- Strong writing, editing, and copy-editing skills and previous writing/editing experience in corporate communications, PR, or journalism.
