About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Advocate to join our team in supporting a young man with autism and severe disabilities in Lanchester, Durham. As a Behaviour Support Advocate, you will play a crucial role in promoting his independence and well-being by using a positive behaviour support framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support daily life and safety
  • Help with medical needs, including epilepsy and food allergies
  • Encourage community and home activities, such as swimming, walking, and forest school
  • Support independence skills and develop communication skills
  • Manage emotions and behaviour using a behaviour support plan
  • Assist with personal care while preserving dignity

Requirements:
  • Good standard of education
  • Desirable: Positive Behaviour Support, Safeguarding, Autism, and Learning Disabilities
  • Physically fit for outdoor activities
