Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in neonatal medicine, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with best practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and service delivery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of educational programs and materials, ensuring they are relevant and effective in supporting the learning needs of junior staff.
- Participate in research and audit activities, contributing to the advancement of neonatal medicine and improving patient outcomes.
- MB BS or equivalent qualification in medicine.
- Full GMC registration and a license to practice.
- Fully accredited for Higher Specialist Training or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
- MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
- Current BLS and NLS certification.
- At least 18 months of middle-grade experience in neonatal intensive care.
- Membership of relevant specialist societies or associations.
- Higher degree (MSc, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Hold a Neonatal Subspecialty CCT.
- Experience in leadership and management, including team management and budgeting.
- Proven track record of quality improvement and service development.
