Head of Commercial Services

Lancaster University Students' Union is seeking a highly effective Head of Commercial Services to join our staff team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a proactive role in overseeing core services areas, including SU Central Supermarket, SU Living, the Sugarhouse, events, and commercial marketing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a committed team to drive forward the commercial activities of the Students' Union.
  • Develop and implement a commercial strategy that is student-focused and profit-driven, ensuring financial stability and rebuilding the gift aid contribution to the Students' Union charity.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Executive to set and achieve commercial goals, including revenue growth and customer engagement.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to create a community of students who want to use and be part of the commercial services.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of leading teams and developing commercial services that have engaged customers and shown consistent growth.
  • A visionary leader who can build rapport, achieve sales growth, and turn it into profit and reserves for the Students' Union.
  • A people person who can develop a can-do culture and take their people with them.
