Job Summary

The University of Victoria is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the University Systems Desktop Support Services team, this individual will be responsible for providing timely, accurate solutions to desktop computing issues for faculty, staff and students.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused individual to make a real difference in the University community.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and three years of experience in resolving technical issues, managing technical projects and providing training in a technical discipline.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Macintosh computing environments, as well as Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management, is essential.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously and demonstrate diplomacy, tact and patience when working with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide desktop computing support to faculty, staff and students
  • Resolving technical issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participating in projects and providing one-on-one and small group training sessions
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Three years of experience in resolving technical issues, managing technical projects and providing training
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Macintosh computing environments
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
