Pastoral Support Officer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Pastoral Support Officer to join our team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and staff.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in full-time ministry and/or substantial experience of pastoral work in a mental health environment. They will be in good standing with their own faith community and have a strong commitment to undertaking further training essential to the requirements of the post.
About the Role:
- Provide spiritual care and support to patients, relatives, and staff across various locations within the Trust.
- Work closely with colleagues from other healthcare disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care planning.
- Meet the specific spiritual and pastoral needs of patients belonging to the chaplain's denomination or religion and respond to requests for help or advice from patients or others.
- Have a strong commitment to professional and spiritual growth and development, attending mandatory training as required.
Requirements:
- Extensive pastoral experience in full-time ministry and/or substantial experience of pastoral work in a mental health environment.
- In-depth knowledge of own faith community and religious traditions, plus knowledge and experience of other traditions and faith communities, multi-faith issues, and cultural care.
- Experience in training others and ability to travel across the Trust as appropriate to the role.
