Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Professional to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our Inpatient Unit, you will work closely with our professional nursing team to provide exceptional standards of individualised physical, psychological and spiritual care to patients.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and working in a supportive team environment. You will be required to carry out duties according to the philosophy of the Hospice, complying at all times with policies relating to safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children whilst, maintaining confidentiality of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct and intimate personal care to patients.
  • Work closely with the Registered Nurse to support patients in IPU and at times supporting our community patients at home.
  • Support the care team in providing 24/7 - 365 days a year care to include nights.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Person Specification

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Competence to deliver direct and intimate personal care.
  • Previous experience working in a Hospice or Palliative Care setting.
  • Care of dying patients and their families.
  • Current driving licence, with use of own car.
  • Qualified by experience in a similar role working in a healthcare setting, or community care.
  • Experience delivering care as part of a rostered team working 24/7 365 days/year.
Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
