NHS Healthcare Support Worker

Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 per annum

Our Health Care Assistants work on our Inpatient Unit (IPU), providing exceptional standards of individualised physical, psychological and spiritual care to patients.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Healthcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our nursing team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in IPU and at times support our community patients at home.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced level DBS check and possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team.

This role requires you to carry out duties according to the philosophy of the Hospice, complying at all times with policies relating to safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children whilst maintaining confidentiality of patients and their families.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct and intimate personal care to patients.
  • Work closely with our professional nursing team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Support community patients at home, as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Person Specification
  • Competence to deliver direct and intimate personal care.
  • Previous experience working in a Hospice or Palliative Care setting.
  • Care of dying patients and their families.
  • Current driving licence, with use of own car.
