Patent Paralegal Specialist

Boots is seeking a skilled Patent Paralegal Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing UK, EP, and PCT patent documents and forms, as well as monitoring the central Patents mailbox and all incoming correspondence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and filing patent documents and forms
  • Monitoring the central Patents mailbox and all incoming correspondence
  • Liaising with attorneys and supporting them with FTP requests
  • Managing the docket(s) of attorneys, maintaining due dates, and monitoring deadlines
  • Generating and preparing reports, preparing data and information for IP portfolio reviews and governance
  • Handling Patent and Design renewals, monitoring Patent watch notifications, obtaining cost quotations, cost reporting, and invoice handling

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience handling patent formalities within either private practice or industry
  • Detailed working knowledge of UK, EP, PCT, and foreign patent formalities, laws, and rules
  • Proficient in the use of IP rights management software and docketing tools, external intellectual property databases, and search tools, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately manage and interrogate IP data and conduct research on patent-related matters
