Patent Paralegal or Administrator Role

Boots is seeking a highly skilled Patent Paralegal or Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Intellectual Property department, you will play a crucial role in preparing and filing patent documents, monitoring deadlines, and maintaining due dates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file UK, EP, and PCT patent documents and forms, including filings, national phase entries, and responses to office actions.
  • Monitor the central Patents mailbox and incoming correspondence, docketing and updating files as necessary.
  • Liaise with attorneys to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Manage the docket(s) of attorneys, maintaining due dates and monitoring deadlines.
  • Generate and prepare reports, data, and information for IP portfolio reviews and governance.
  • Handle patent and design renewals, monitor patent watch notifications, and obtain cost quotations.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience handling patent formalities in private practice or industry.
  • Detailed working knowledge of UK, EP, PCT, and foreign patent formalities, laws, and rules.
  • Proficient in IP rights management software, docketing tools, external intellectual property databases, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately manage and interrogate IP data and conduct research on patent-related matters.
