Job Title: Principal RF Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned RF Systems Engineer with expertise in designing and developing RF products and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers in the research and development of low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) concepts, using model-based engineering and proof-of-concept prototype systems. The goal is to demonstrate viability for further development of these ideas into products and system solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain expertise in RF systems and technologies, including receivers, transmitters, and power amplifiers.
  • Lead the design and development of RF products and systems, from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software-defined radio (SDR) based demonstration systems for lab and field-based experimentation.
  • Work closely with customers to iterate system requirements through experimentation and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain technical proposals, reports, and presentations to communicate complex ideas to a mixed-experience audience.
  • Support the System Design Authority in fulfilling the role of a Design Authority for products/systems, in adherence to the Company Engineering governance.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in one or more of the following: receivers, transmitters, power amplifiers, or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  • Ability to operate at all levels, from board-level design/specification to system validation and qualification.
  • Experience in the engineering lifecycle, including design and development of RF products/systems.
  • Functional analysis and specification development for RF-products/systems with software/firmware content.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to a mixed-experience audience.

Nice to Have/None Essential Skills:

  • Experience with broadband transceiver modules using system-on-chip (SoC) technology, broadband amplifiers, and their implementation and integration into SDR platforms.
  • Working knowledge of DOORS for requirements management.
  • Previous experience working with telecommunication air-interface specifications.
  • Previous experience with electronics assembly and testing, inclusive of RF systems under software control.
