Patient Services Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Services Assistant to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of the ward team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Main Responsibilities
Working closely with the Hotel Services Supervisor and Departmental management, you will contribute to the maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the ward kitchen. This will involve:
- Carrying out food regeneration at ward level, ensuring that the regeneration procedure is followed to maintain food at the correct temperature.
- Maintaining the ward kitchen hygiene standards, ensuring it is clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensuring good practice in relation to stock rotation and the recording/discarding of out-of-date food.
- Monitoring and recording fridge temperatures daily, reporting any problems as necessary.
- Ensuring refrigerated food is labelled and stored correctly.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrable customer care experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage deadlines.
