Job Title: Specialist Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Dietitian to join our team at Thornford Park, a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats.

As a Specialist Dietitian, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the dietetic service across the hospital, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide personalized assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing dietetic clinical services to individuals and groups, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.
  • Developing and implementing evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid patient mental health recovery.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records, including care notes and written reports, following hospital and professional standards.
  • Establishing effective communication with patients, carers, and staff, and providing training and education as required.
  • Collaborating with clinical teams, associated disciplines, and external agencies to provide a professional contribution to the service.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Dietetics
  • HCPC Registration
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 & CPA
  • Experience of working in a similar setting
