Job Title: Night Support Worker

Gordon Moody is a leading UK charity dedicated to providing support and treatment for individuals severely affected by gambling harms. Our organisation was established in 1971 in South London, and we now have centres across the UK offering residential treatment for men and women to help them reclaim and rebuild their lives through recovery in a safe and supported environment.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Night Support Worker to join our team at our Redditch site, a brand-new 27-bed facility opening in November. The successful candidate will be required to support service users throughout the night to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and sustain a person's recovery, followed by a morning handover to ensure all information is communicated effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure all service users are on-site and remain on-site throughout the evening.
  2. Regularly check CCTV footage.
  3. Address problems arising within the house individually or in house meetings and provide emotional support when needed.
  4. Support service users to meet their wider health and social care needs, both whilst in treatment and on exit to the community, in line with their support plans.
  5. Conduct evening Health & Safety checks of communal areas and staff areas, report back and arrange repairs to the Service Manager.
  6. Contribute to the development of the Programme through evaluation, continuous improvement, and development projects as necessary.
  7. Participate in learning and development opportunities for personal development and to maintain up-to-date knowledge within the field.
  8. Carry out required administration functions, including risk assessments, incident reporting, correspondence, monitoring, data capture, and updating the electronic case management database, ensuring quality record keeping.
  9. Participate in available support structures, including managerial supervision, team meetings, clinical meetings, and handovers.
  10. Contribute to and support the service to meet contractual KPI's, including occupancy, retention, and discharge, as commissioned.
  11. Participate in learning and development opportunities for personal development and to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
  12. Be a flexible, positive member of the team to maintain high standards of service provision.
  13. Proactively support the work of the organisation with all stakeholders.
  14. Proactively engage with organisational change, quality improvement, and development for the benefit of people who use our services.
  15. Understanding of risk, incident, and safeguarding processes.
  16. Experience working in a health and social care environment (e.g., residential, mental health, or drug support services).
  17. Ability to work in a rota pattern including weekends when required.
  18. Computer literate with experience using database systems, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  19. Level 3 NVQ Health and Social Care or Equivalent.
  20. Experience working in a structured Health and Social Care environment.
  21. Training in therapeutic approaches.
  22. Experience in using care-focused software to record care plans.
