About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Child Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in the classroom, either in small groups or one-to-one, to ensure they feel safe and supported.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive support package for each child.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful relationship with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized support plans for each child.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting children with mental health needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with mental health needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
