Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering Department across four quarry sites and three engineering workshops. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the health and safety of staff, contractors, and visitors to site, minimizing the impact of the engineering function on the environment, and ensuring the successful planning and execution of engineering projects within the annual budget.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the Engineering functions of the Quarries Business, associated with fixed and mobile production plant and quarry installations.
- Oversee engineering staff and contractors, fixed plant upgrade works, preventative and planned maintenance, and repair of all plant, including electrical installations, fabrication, and welding works.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly inspections are completed, and defects reported.
- Liaise with Operations Manager and Health and Safety Representative on Health and Safety issues at the workplace.
- Work in accordance with Environmental Management System and promote environmentally considerate work practices.
- Develop and promote good communications and professional relationships between all levels of staff and employees on site.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of employee timesheets.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of all types of quarrying plant.
- At least five years of management experience in the Quarry or similar industrial facility.
- QCF 6/NVQ4 in Extractives Management or willingness to study for it.
- Qualified electrician or extensive electrical knowledge preferred.
