The Environmental Health Officer/Senior Environmental Health Officer role at Runnymede Borough Council offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment. As a key member of our commercial environmental health team, you will carry out a mixture of programmed inspections and reactive work involving food hygiene, infectious disease, nuisance, public health, occupational health and planning consultations.

About the Opportunity

This role provides an excellent chance to develop your skills and expertise in environmental health, while contributing to the health and wellbeing of our community. You will work closely with other colleagues to support the delivery of our services and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve public health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out programmed inspections and reactive work in various areas of environmental health
  • Deliver official food controls
  • Work with other colleagues to support the delivery of our services
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve public health

Requirements:

  • Competent in delivering official food controls
  • Broad experience of other areas of environmental health related work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
