Nursery Safeguarding Lead

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to take full responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in our nursery’s care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the nursery complies with all safeguarding legal and statutory requirements;
  • Provide ongoing support, advice, and supervision on safeguarding matters;
  • Ensure all staff fully implement safeguarding policies and track training records;
  • Develop and deliver safeguarding training to raise awareness across the team;
  • Keep policies and procedures up to date and perform annual reviews;
  • Lead on interventions for children’s welfare and safety, and liaise with external agencies;
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records on all safeguarding cases;
  • Ensure positive communication with parents regarding their child’s welfare.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification;
  • 2+ years of Early Years experience;
  • Recent professional development in safeguarding;
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills;
  • Experience working with external agencies and handling sensitive data;
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures;
  • Excellent record-keeping and interpersonal skills.
