About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our CAMHS Learning Disability Team in Dudley. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities who are experiencing mental health needs and behaviors of concern.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess and identify strategies to support young people with their sensory profiles.
- Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions.
- Use evidence-based mental health interventions and participate in the team's Challenging Behaviour Intervention.
About the Team
Our CAMHS Service is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who are passionate about working with children, young people, and their families to develop creative solutions to improve their mental health difficulties. We operate across four geographical areas, with a specialist learning disability team dedicated to children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
Person Specification
- Essential:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with a governing body as relevant to the above.
- Evidence of post-registration relevant to Mental Health practice.
- Desirable:
- Experience working as a qualified OT within the designated service area.
- Carrying a caseload of service users with complex and diverse needs in a mental health setting.
