Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative nurse to lead and manage our Children's Continuing Care and Commissioning team. As a key member of our Integrated Care Board, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Children's Continuing Care and Commissioning team, ensuring effective delivery of services and high-quality care for children and young people.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with national frameworks and local guidelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, social care teams, and education providers, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal outcomes for children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including healthcare providers, social care agencies, and education institutions, to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the Integrated Care Board's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with national and local priorities.

Person Specification
  • First-level registered children's nurse
  • NHS management experience at a senior level
  • Educated to master's degree level or working at that level
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Experience of involving patients, public, and carers
  • Experience of leading meetings and chairing multi-disciplinary forums and boards
  • Experienced in the use of IT applications, specifically Microsoft Office Word and Excel and email
  • Extensive clinical background and proven knowledge of general/mental health nursing
  • Significant clinical leadership/organisational management experience
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes and participating effectively when required
  • Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner
  • Evidence of ongoing professional training development
  • Management training or qualifications
